The water pump hose is the connection between the water pump outlet and the rest of the cooling system (e.g. radiator, manifold, thermostat, pipes). It is used to guide the coolant by pushing it from the pump to other parts of the system. It must withstand pressure, temperature and vibration, that's why it is made of rubber material with reinforcement (textile fibers or cords). It is shaped to fit into the engine compartment without torsional stresses, bends or contact with moving parts.
